Roleplay Training & Roleplay Scenarios

Updated over 3 months ago

Overview

What is Roleplay training?

Roleplay Training in Evergrowth let you practice sales conversations with an AI-powered digital clone of a prospect. It simulates cold calls or discovery meetings, helping you sharpen your pitch, handle objections, and get instant feedback based on proven sales methodologies. The AI evaluates your performance and provides actionable coaching, so you can improve your skills in a risk-free environment.

  • Roleplay Session is the actual roleplay session where you participate. You’ll interact with AI and receive your evaluation.

  • Roleplay Scenarios are training setup (saved template) created by your manager or enablement team. Each scenario defines the type of meeting (e.g., cold call, discovery), the persona, the evaluation method, and how often you’ll be asked to complete it. These can be scheduled on repetitive basis.

When should I use it?

  • When you want to practice cold calls or discovery meetings before reaching out to real prospects.

  • For regular sales training and skill development, either as part of a scheduled program or on demand.

  • Anytime you want feedback and coaching in a risk-free environment.

Before You Start

  • Ensure your microphone (and optionally camera) are enabled for interactive sessions.

  • Be aware of any deadlines for completing assigned roleplay sessions.

  • Be ready to review evaluation afterward. That’s where the learning happens.

Setup Roleplay Scenarios: Step-by-Step Guides (for Admins)

Create & Assign scheduled roleplay training sessions for your sales team

This guide is for admins or sales enablement managers who want to create structured training scenarios for their sales team on a specific frequency.

  1. Go to Playbook >> Roleplay Scenarios

  2. Click New Scenario

    • Click the "New Scenario" button.

  3. Name and Type

    • Enter a clear, self-explanatory name for the scenario (this will be visible to salespeople).

    • Select the type of scenario (e.g., Discovery Meeting, Cold Call). This choice affects how the AI agent behaves.

  4. Scenario Tuning

    • The Roleplay Trainer agent knows about two people: the prospect and the salesperson. It’s very important to specifically use these words then referring to the prospect or salesperson.

    • Provide detailed context for the scenario. This can include:

      • Why the call is happening

      • What the prospect knows about your company

      • Likely questions or objections

    • To have more “real-life” experience, you can extract questions that prospect asked from an actual call and add these questions to the scenario tuning.

  5. Persona and Vertical Settings

    • Select the relevant vertical

    • Select relevant persona

    • (Optional) if you want this roleplay scenario to be for a specific prospect, then add their LinkedIn URL to personalize the experience.

  6. Personality and Behavioral Settings

This directly impacts the behaviour of the prospect and affect their willingness to continue with you, their resistance to new ideas, how much they challenge the salesperson’s pitch, how polite or aggressive they are.

  7. Choose the Evaluation Instruction

  8. Set Frequency and Describe the scenario to the team so they’d know what to expect and do

    • Choose how often the scenario should be repeated (e.g., weekly drills).

      • Note: if you don’t want this scenario to be scheduled on a repetitive basis, then simply turn off the “Frequency” toggle.

    • Instructions are seen by participant and does not impact the behavior of AI.

  9. Assign participants OR skip this step and assign later

    • Assigned users will receive notification emails to complete their sessions.

    • If you want to test and change the roleplay settings before inviting the team, then you can skip this step. Reason: once you invite participants, you won’t be able to edit the scenario settings.

  10. Click “Start” to save.

Once you create a scenario, it’s best to test it before inviting participants so that you could make any changes.

  1. Open the specific scenario.

  2. Click “Duplicate”.

Additional Notes & Tips

  • The more detailed your scenario tuning, the more realistic the training will feel.

  • Default personality and evaluation settings work well, but experimenting helps you prepare for different buyer behaviors.

  • Status “Evaluating” means the AI is still scoring your attempt, check back soon.

  • To maximize improvement, review your feedback carefully after each session and focus on one or two skills each time (e.g., objection handling, discovery questions).

  • Salespeople see only their assigned sessions and not the full scenario settings, keeping their interface simple.
